I'm new to these forums but already have found great information here. Member D555's write up on how the caps inside the unit go bad and cause problems with the sound was great. I was already able to fix it using new caps to refresh the unit. However, my unit is super sensitive to movement and skips super easy. It also has a hard time tracking scratched cds. I have a suspicion that the tracking and focus adjustments may need to be re calibrated. I was hoping that someone out there could share a copy with me. Anyone out there?
BTW- I bought this unit brand new back in 1990. Ran across it the other day and started searching and found out it's a pretty desireable unit. I remember it's sound quality was superb(At the time I didn't know why) back when I bought it and would still be using it today but it developed a skipping issue and it just wasn't practical to carry it around anymore.
Anyone know what Sony would charge to go through one of these?
