SOLD: Grado HF-1 #28 6 foot APS V3 carbon techflex cable 1/8" plug, Mahogany Wood Cups and J$...

So, I recently re-acquired my old Grado HF-1 #28 back from Blutarsky, which I had traded to him with other gear for his Stax O2 Mk1 last year. But I just can't afford to keep these HF-1. I originally bought them from Alex at APureSound in Jan 2008. I paid Alex $628 shipped with a 6-foot APS v3 carbon techflex cable and 1/8" plug. The sound was fantastic, and even beat my APS v3 cabled RS-2 in all areas, but especially in bass and soundstage.

I really didn't like the stock plastic cups and cheap headband, so in late April 2008 I sent them to HeadCoverage to have their mahogany wood cups and a leather headband (aka J$) installed for $164 + shipping it out to them. By that time I had $792 invested in these phones, and when they came back I compared them to my RS-1 with APS v3 cable. I was very happy with the sound, and found them in some ways to be more flexible in tuning the sound with with bowls and flats than my RS-1 (look in my profile to links to my HF-1 comparisons).

So, these can now be yours for only $550 shipped to CONUS and no extra for paypal fees. International sales will be considered but not guaranteed, and it will cost extra. Blutarsky still has the signed Grado box and original plastic cups that I will need to get from him, so those should be included along with bowl pads. It may be possible to swap the bowls for flats, but I will have to take inventory of what I have.

Here are some photos I took today:

Note: The price I came up with is with ZERO markup on the HF-1 even though I did pay a 100% markup at $400. So, that would be $200 cans + $210 cable + $164 wood/leather = $574. I then rounded down the price and threw in shipping and paypal.

I'll be willing to throw in a V3 headband if the buyer pays shipping.

Sweet!

Admittedly, this HF-1 has the earlier version leather headband but it's still nice. I also bought a newer V3 leather headband like the one Jeremy is offering the buyer, for my woodied re-cabled SR-60 and it is a little plusher and nicer.

Bump!

I do have enough pads to give you a choice of flats or bowls if you buy these, and I found the stock cable to toss in the box as well.

And, this is a great price for HF-1 - after you subtract the cost of the cable, cups, headband and shipping, you are paying less than $150 for the HF-1 underneath!
