Never ever understood why Brian Wilson gets so much praise as a composer. I must be too young or too uncultured or something

Listen to all the music before Wilson, then Listen to the music after. Then you will understand. He is underrated IMO, but I voted for dylan because well... he really is the king.

Gotta go with the Drix on this one, despite my name. Hendrix only released one other album during his brief career, so 1968 meant much more to his career than any other year for the artists mentioned. I also think that other than maybe Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys, none of the albums mentioned are generally regarded as the bands' best. I like Blood on the Tracks or Desire for Dylan, Abbey Road or Revolver for The Beatles, and IV or Physical Graffiti for Zeppelin. I know these albums weren't released in the same year, but that's precisely why I picked Jimi on this one. Of course, I'm basing my opinion on preference, not necessarily the year's pivotal role in popular music.
