Sub $100 DAC

Hi,

I am looking for a DAC of some sort, right now I just play music out of my computer. I mean it's alright, but if I understand correctly, it could be better with a DAC. What's a good DAC that's below $100? Being a student doesn't really help when you're trying to expand your gear .

Thanks,
Ben

Nuforce Udac
Zero Dac
Bantam Dac
Alien Dac
Musiland Monitor 02
Hot Audio Products (ebay)
Used Emu 0404 USB
Various used dac's, (Check For sale forum)

personally, I'd go Udac without looking back. At the below 100$ price range.

Thanks for the advice! I was looking at a used Hot Audio Bit Perfect. Would this be comparable to the Udac?

I can't offer a head to head comparison as i've not heard either product. But if I had to guess, I think the udac is probably superior. There is more to a dac then the actual dac chip, but the udac chip is something special. (ESS Sabre 9022) If your wondering if they are worth the difference in price, just look at the Chasis and build quality. It's definatly worth the extra 30$

Ah, okay. That's fair. It seems a lot of people love the uDac. I'll definitely have to look into that.
