anybody used Sennheiser warranty service before?

Thread Starter
last weekend, while having the px100 sitting around my neck unattached to the player, i accidentally stepped on the cord and pulled the right side driver+plastic unit from the silver band... it didnt look like anything was broken so i pushed it back in place. it snapped in, but the driver seems to slide on the band instead of moving up and down in "clicks" like it's supposed to.

i sent them to sennheiser for warranty work, and the service status estimates that i will be charged for the repair
anybody know approximately how much this will cost?

even though it was completely my fault, i had hoped that they would be generous like koss...hearing stories how people send in completely mauled headphones back for a free replacement =\

i dont want to pay 20$ or something like that, plus shipping fee, for some relatively cheap headphones i barely even use

Sennheiser warranty repair rocks!!!!!!!!!!

I sent in a pair of 280 pro's on a slight reduction in volume on one side.... and they sent me a totally brand new pair instead of fixing the one side. the whole thing only took a week

If you're talking about the info on the Senn. site to track your repair status saying the cust. will pay, I believe that is the default. I just sent a pair of Senn. cans in for clearly warr. repair and the tracking status showed the same as yours. Then on Tues. UPS drops off a box with a new pair of replacement cans. If Senn. believes you should pay they will probably contact you with an est. and then want your CC info to pay (stepping on a breaking not a warr. issue, but who knows). Good luck!

I had something like that happen to my PX200's except it hadn't come all the way off, but it wasn't clicking... I was able to fix it by just pushing on the inside of the plastic peice in serveral places and then I heard a clicking noise... after that it was all better...

Anyone bought a MX 470 or something cheap like that and used the warranty? I want to buy them, but if one of the speakers stops working, do I have to ship it or they will send a free replacement without hassles?

Im sure Sennheiser warranty service is pretty good considering all the cheap plastic on the headphones and the amount of repairs they gotta do lol.
