Yes they sound as good as they look i am so happy with these, just bought them for $140. total steal.

Where did you find them at $140? And I agree, I really enjoyed the sq when I heard them, but I only listened to them amp'd and the comfort was very good. Only thing I don't like is the coil cable, have you modded it yet?

I have to agree.

For the money, they are a total steal.

Insanely good closed headphones. I had the JVC DX1000's a bit back and sold them cause the Shure's were so much better (to my ear, anyway).

I can't decide which I like more ... my 1000 dollar GS1000's or my 150 dollar SRH840's ... I love them both ... but you have to admit, the price point difference is pretty funny.

(best kept secret and all)

I got them from American Musical Supply, at americanmusical.com, price checking them from this site:

Shure SRH840 Professional Monitoring Headphones

Don't buy them from karaokee equipment, because they're not a samsung authorized dealer, so you won't get the warranty.. Most of the samsung dealers still priced matched to this though, like Musician's friend and such.
