Building a CKKIII - Page 2

For my case, I stopped at my local Michael's (a craft kind of store, I suppose) and bought a shadow box. It was relatively cheap, made of wood (nothing high quality, but it's pretty decent IMO), and it looks nice. It cost me $20, but they had a buy-one-get-one deal going on, so I got two for $20.

I got my parts in at then end of last week, put one board together, and I started on the case today. I hope it working by tomorrow evening, then I'm going to work on the other board over the rest of the week, as I'm making mine balanced.

I've sorted the case issue, since I will be ordering the front and back plates from FPE it doesn't matter what the bevel on the plates is, since I will just make them poke out about 5mm on each side (I think this will look nice then if the plates are flush with the case - i.e. same dimensions).

So far the FPE program is telling me it will cost about $50 for front and back sans shipping (I have writing and all that jazz too). So not bad, considering buying tools to do it will cost more and I don't think I will reach the same result.

Thanks for the tip on the power plug, will go and order one!
