AA based Panasonic MP020

Here is my story:

I recently bought Triple.fi 10 while not having any portable source except Nokia E51. Generally I prefer music phones, so my initial desire was to buy decent music phone. Since I could not find anything that would satisfy me I decided to wait for the "music phone" and buy AA based mp3-player instead.

The reason I decided to buy AA based player is simple : I wanted a player that would work for many years and without the of need battery replacement.

After a 4 day research I found Panasonic SV-MP020.

--It has 2gigs (which is okay to me)

--Has very durable body with long lasting controls!

--Graphical display with backlight.

-- Navigation through folders.Folder play support.

--Equalizer and other sound settings

-- 80 hours playback with single AA battery(!)

--Amazing sound quality way better than Nokia 5800, iPhone 2G and Hp DV7 laptop.

-- Very loud: I listen to my Triple.fi on 7 out of 25.

-- No bass roll-off!

-- hiss detected with Triple.Fi

-----------------------------

Disadvantages:

No Flac support...

But! With high quality mp3s it sounds better than 5800 or laptop with flac.

panasonic players had alway had longer battery life, but they do it at the cost of a weaker output. They use to make a really long battery life minidisc player which had low output.
3mw per channel at 16 ohm for this player according to it's specs. You probably won't be running any demanding phones on it.

Yup, 3mw per channel: Online Service Manual

It runs all my headphones pretty well. It is weird that it has just 3mw per channel.

After using it for 2 months I can say that it is a great "emergency" player. By emergency I mean ability to play 2gb of favorite tracks, when there is no charager and the only source available is AA battery.
