But how are you going to get that money? Do you have it saved already?

I'm selling off the Macbook Air I'm getting. Hopefully I'll get around $12-1300 for it. Any extra I need can probably be earned doing other stuff.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I really hope you get it though, I still doubt that Lockerz is legit...

Dear Lord, I really hate to do this cause I really want to come, but I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to make it Asr. I was looking forward to coming to a meet but I may have to save my virginity for another time. Again sorry, but some personal things have come up.

Well, if things change we'd sure like to have you still attend.

To everyone else - I'd really like to see us hit 25 people like previous meets.  I know it's taking place only 2 months before CanJam@RMAF and we'll have to set up our rigs for that all over again; but I think it a local meet is nice to not have to worry about trying to get away to look at all the vendor gear and speaker rigs and just focus on head-fi.

I'm going to also bring my LA7000 as well, and possibly my HE Audio Jade electrostatics - at RMAF last year someone dented the wood on my Jade, and I was wary about bringing them to meets anymore.  My son will probably have my Nuforce HDP in his rig, with an eXStatA.  I have a working Hybrid eXStatA that will be his, but the trimpots in the PSU need some final adjustments that I don't know how to do.

Gonna go ahead and fulfill my own request here since I just bought a WA2. I'll most likely bring it along.

I will consider bringing the WA6 with me, but last year I overloaded myself with gear and had to stay an extra night at the hotel to recover before I could load everything up in the car and bring it home the next day.  So I was hoping I can avoid dismantling my bedroom rig this time.  After the meet I'll probably leave my main rig boxed up until CanJam@RMAF 2 months later.

No worries about the WA6, it sounds like you're already bringing plenty of amazing stuff.

I'm bringing basically nothing.  All advances in my system since last year's meet have been at the expense of headphones, with the exception of the JH13s, which only fit me.

Currently my entire headphone collection is a Lambda normal out of a transformer.

I've got some great speakers, though...

Is this the same speaker rig I listened to last time?  I loved the transparency.  And with JH13pro and SR-Lambda you were still doing well with headphones.

Still can't believe I missed last year, just flubbed the date. I won't know if I can make this one until the end of the month though, but man I really want to.

Thanks for the nudge Steve!

I am in.  Depending on what I have at the moment, I will be bringing Macbook, Benchmark DAC1 and possibly new lower cost dac as well.  Listening will be with the Shure 840s

cheers

Thread Starter

Post #1 has been updated with the latest info up to #42. Just an FYI to people signing up, I'll revisit this thread frequently enough to update post #1 up until 2 days before the meet and won't be responding directly (in this thread, anyway) to most posts unless there's a reason to. So just look for the updates in post #1.

I've finalized my gear list which will include the following two systems:

(1) laptop PC > Ayre QB-9 & Plinius CD-101 > HeadAmp Blue Hawaii SE > Stax OII MKI & SR-X MKIII

(I've decided to let my Plinius CDP make a rare meet appearance so others can find out what I've been enjoying lately)

(2) Arcam FMJ CD36 > Schiit Asgard & SPL Auditor > Beyerdynamic T1, Sennheiser HD800, & Audio-Technica AD2000

If Larry/HPA wouldn't mind I'd prefer to set up his WES next to my BHSE so folks can compare them on the same source. (The BHSE's loop output would make this easy to set up.)

Misc items I'll also have at the meet will be the HeadAmp Pico Slim & DAC/amp, along with the Audio-Technica ES7.

I'm still in the process of saving up for an Audeze LCD-2 and guess that I will probably not get one in time for the meet - but I will make sure to get one in time for CanJam@RMAF in October....

Asr, sign me up!

I apologize for not responding earlier, I been extremely busy and haven't been on the forums for months (good on my wallet, but bad on my sanity! ).

Anyway, I'll be bringing most of my setup this year, which will include:

Transport:  My personal PC, including full tower, monitor, keyboard, and mouse

Source/DAC:  MHDT Paradisea 3

Amps:  Darkvoice 336se and Qinpu A-6000MKII

Cans:  Sennheiser HD650

I'll also be bringing a large collection of tubes for the DAC/Amps.  Asr, since I'll be bringing my desktop, DAC, and two amps, I think I'll need some room... probably at least half a table.  Also, unfortunately I'll be almost completely offline for next few weeks, but I'll be there for sure.

Can't wait to see everyone and check out all the gear!  Looking forward to trying Larry's HE-5's.

Steve, is your loop out an XLR or RCA? My WES is balanced input only, and I'd need to use input transformers to take a proper RCA signal if your loop out is not XLR.

I have a Jensens Transformers box that can accept RCA input and send the WES a balanced signal by using gender changing adapters on the XLR jack of the transformer box. This works well with my phono preamp, but the extra set of IC and Xformer might influence the sound.

I do have nice sounding RCA loop outs from my WES, but no XLR loop out. Mine has the demo case from last year RMAF and it wasn't set up for XLR out, just two XLR inputs. The RCA weren't active since mine doesn't have the 12AU7 phase splitters, so Jack Wu converted the unused RCA to loop out for me.

PS: I should have an LCD-2 in time for the meet (ships by the 16th we hope).
