Fixing ESW9 broken hinges

Hey everyone,

I just had one of the hinges of my ESW9 break.

It's under warranty, so I'm gonna get the hinges fixed, but since this is the 2nd time a hinge has broken, I want to get replacement parts in case it happens again.

Anyone have any experience replacing the hinges by themselves? Anyone know specifically what parts to order & how to perform the fix?

PM librarian, he got the spare parts from AudioTechnica and did the replacement job about a year or so ago. There is a thread here on head-fi about his experience. Mine also broke while germania owned them and she repaired it with molten plastic. It looks ugly but seems to be much stronger than the original build.

Thanks, I'll give it a go with librarian.

I tried to message germania, but it seems that she's banned? I dunno...that's what her status said.
