This is what I usually do too.

"Oh these old things I got them months/years ago, just decided to start using them again, don't you remember them, you never pay attention when i tell you or show you my stuff do you."

Anyway it is way easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission. My problem with these is I saved and have the money but with budget cuts ongoing around here recently, I have to be sure I will make it thru the summer downtime before I commit right now. In addition, when I decide to do it hopefully the lag time will be down to a reasonable amount of time.

Yup, Jaime told me 3-4 weeks. I don't think that's much longer than what other Head-fiers who recently ordered JH16s have had to wait.

Man, you guys are crazy. I've tried the buying and not telling strategy, it never works. The woman always finds out eventually. Plus she now checks my credit card and bank statements for "budget" reasons, so I don't think I could sneak in a $1200 charge.

I've had the savings for a while, but was locked down by the wife. It ended up working out, since I originally wanted JH13s but the battle took so long that, by the time she relented, the JH16s came out and they seem to fit my preferences more. Also good timing in that the Protector just came out. Although not having the money now wouldn't be so bad, since I have a feeling JH Audio will have some kind of sale once the JH16 hype dies down a bit, maybe by the fall. I just couldn't wait!

There may be a CanJam sale at the beginning in June. Though it may the type of thing where you have to actually be there.
