A protable CD player that won't beep?

I own two Sony CD players, a D-E200 and a D-E351 and I hate them both. They sound decent, especially the latter, but they have an extremely annoying "feature": when I jump between tracks, they emit a very loud and sharp beep. With the lowest impedence 'phones, that can ruin a listening session.

I'm looking for a player without this issue. Are they making any new machine of comparable SQ (which is not that high, by the way)? Is going vintage a better solution? I'd rather go new if I can. Brand doesn't matter at all.

Thanks for your suggestions.

While not directly addressing your question, on Sony players generally you can disable the very annoying beep by holding down the "Stop" button for a few seconds while you insert the batteries.

Thanks, mate. Now that you said it, I remember I used to know the trick. Darn, I'm getting old...
