Seattle/Portland" Meet in the Middle" - Page 2

Bootymuss. I'll be there the night before and probably that night as well so if there's anything I can do help out ?............ I still have my EF2 with at least 5 different kinds of tubes, from stock to Jan Sylvanias,Tung Sol, Mullard, and Raytheon. If anyone else has an EF 2, we can put them side by side with different tubes for a good old fashioned A & B. I also have a pair of "Baby Stax" w/SRD-404 controler for that newbee "Electret Earspeaker" sound.

Oh, I also will bring a Deard MP-5 amp if someone bring a decent RCA cable. I don't have any RCA cable now.

Doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary is on my work calendar around that time, though that can change really quick. If possible, I'll try to make it, though I don't have much to contribute gearwise. Stuff I can bring are ATH ESW9, ATH A700, Yuin PK1 and PK3, Westone UM1, iBasso D10, Corda 2Move, and Cowon D2. I are portable man, apparently. Unfortunately, I won't be dragging my desktop and squeezebox along. My desktop box is not transport friendly.

I'd be driving in from Seattle, and may be able to carpool and/or help some stuff in my Mazda 3 hatchback.

I'll definitely be there, and will try to help muster the PDX crowd. Also happy to bring up anyone who may need a ride (maybe 2-3 max).

Looking fwd to meeting some of the Pugetopolis folks!

I would really like to hear all of those things. Especially the ESW9's, Ibasso, and Cowon. I have a GoVibe Petit,Travagans Colors,and Cafeine. Phiaton 210,Maximo metal 50's ( Although Andrew will bring some of those). so There should be "Portable" gear all around.

Did you finally make arrangements to have your WA22 recapped? What is involved in the WA22 recap? Can't wait to read about your impressions on this. and see photos as well! Sorry that you hurt your ankle.

Good to hear! Given all the equipment I've heard being thrown around at Seattle meets, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to contribute anything.

I'll also endeavor to load some music into my D2 that isn't anime or game related, so it may be a better basis of comparison for people. I'll set a task reminder to myself or I have a snowball's chance in hell of remembering.

I will drop off my amp this coming Monday at Modwright. 2 hours 15 min drive for me, not bad. Then I will have fun at strip club at Portland after that. No, just kidding. I talked to Dan the owner, only thing that for sure right now is using Mundorf Sliver/Oil Caps. I chose that cap based on my intense study, the sound signature of the cap relate to WA22, size, and price point. I DO NOT want blackgtes. I know Modwright have their own caps, but I could not find reviews or any comments, I do not want to take the risk.

I mainly want to Mod the PC board section, which should be easy. Dan told me he will come up a package price for all WA22.

Dan is very nice to deal with so far. I will provide the caps, he only charge for the labor.

Can someone tell me what values of those caps. I already pack the amp. and tubes.

I guess driving to and fro for a total of 4 1/2 hours is a lot better than waiting on UPS or FedEx, yes? So you're solely responsible for getting Dan to start to perform mods on the WA22? That's great. Has he done mods to other headphone amps as well?

Depending on the condition on the mountains and some other possible factors, I may be able to make it. I'll probably be able to confirm yes or no by Wednesday of that week.

Dan of Modwright, and his products has been around for long time. Most his Mod rated 9 or better in a 10 point scale. I will borrow his ears and skill to make WA22 better. Headphone amps are not too much different than preamp.

I emailed him about the meet, and I will talk to him in person about the meet again on this Monday.

If you feel that Dan's Mods are rated in the 9- to 10-point scale arena, why wouldn't you go with his caps as well?
