Hey,

Looking to get custom IEMs and need an audiologist recommendation for ear molds. The catch is I live in Tokyo, Japan. Anyone have any recommendations. English or Japanese is ok with me.

Thanks in advance.

You have no leads on an audiologist BaasThor?

Where are you in Tokyo?

I be residing near Kichijoji.

Skoog5600, I would recommend going to Suyama Hochouki :
FitEar / フィットイヤー
They not only do molds but make their own custom IEMs as well which you can find on the website. Friend got his impressions done here and I'm be making a visit to have them make a custom monitor (FitEar 333) as well.
They are in Ginza.

Hi Shigashio ... thanks for the recommendation. By the way what do they charge for impressions. I will check out the site.

Is your friend happy with the custom monitors? I am thinking of getting my Shure 530s customized in China through Unique Melody. But would be nice to get something done here in Tokyo ... not have to deal with the unknown issues .. i.e., delivery etc.

Your thoughts?

Thanks again.

Here is a list over all audiologists (耳鼻科)in Tokyo, just select in what part of the city you live in and you'll find a (long) list.

しがしお3、How much to FitEar charge for a mold?

I definitely recommend fitear. They did my 333 custom monitor and are one of the most hard core custom earphone places in the world - it is a secret, but I saw a fully customised ********** *** at a recent meet. It was done by fitear.

HOW MUCH? ? ?

I'm using caps lock since I guess you didn't see the same 3 questions.

BassThor, thanks for trying to clarify ... maybe the price is a secret. But from the looks of the site my guess is it is quite expensive if even for molds. Found 6 places in my area Koganei-shi.

I think it was something like 4-5000円. I dont quite remember though, and it doesnt say on the website. Try calling?

Hope you all don't mind me resurrecting this thread.  I'm looking for an audiologist to do an impression for some 1964 customs.  Does Fitear speak English -- my Japanese is pretty bad!  :-<
