those silly audiologists in the hospital too, i must make a point of visiting them. when they tested my hearing up to 22khz bpfore declaring my hearing was not only fine but excellent, that the internet has spoken and they all cant do their jobs.
But you never mentioned you actually tested your hearing at an audiologist. If you tested it professionally and could hear up to 22, then of course you can hear 22, nobody's gonna argue with that.

But I have a question - why the heck do you mention your apparently outstanding hearing in this thread? Showing off is fine of course - we all do that from time to time, but doing so in a thread like this is completely inappropriate IMO.

Check this out. Doesn't make me feel so bad anymore. And that was back in the 40s, when iPods didn't exist. But seems like humans are evolving quickly - 18-19 kHz is the norm for young people nowadays right? In 100 years we'll probably surpass dogs and cats in our hearing abilities. Although that might actually be true... lol

21 and can't really here past 16khz . . . on a good day I might pick up a extremely reduced 17khz but I have to struggle to hear it.

It's pretty normal to eventually lose frequencies above 16khz as you age, same reason the mosquito ring tone is popular.

sorry i never thought it would come across as bragging, i just dont do that. its nothing one really has control over so its numerical value is worthless. id no sooner brag about that than i might my hat size or hight.

and i also didint realise we were supposed to be supplying evidence, id just assumed were all trusted each other not to be making up carp or being total idiots.

You guess? Or have you actually tested your ears and know that you can hear 20+?

I can hear 2-3ghz easily. Everytime my CPU hits 100%, I have to cover my ears...

99% of music is between 10hz to 10khz so no big deal if someone can't hear 25khz

Well, I guess you're just lucky. Being a teenager in Greece (decades ago) I can remember many mornings leaving the "discotheques" with my ears hearing the dreading whistle of my listening cells dying from loud volumes...
I also remember when serving in the army, during basic training I fired a rifle grenade out of a G3. I coulden't hear anything for the rest of the day.
I guess I have killed my top end rather efficiently.

28 now and the last time I checked, I could still hear up to 19.5kHz.

Then again, my job depends on this.

What job is that?
Deterer of teenagers? Do you just stand out the front of stores and squeal at supersonic frequencies audible only to teenagers and yourself?

No, really I am quite curious.

i can hear up to 18 kHz at normal volume, then i have to t urn it up once or twice to go up to 22, so even though i have tinnitus i can still hear half decently.
