GAHH I AM GOING CRAZY

My family, they are nuts, I swear. My sister has been playing this damned piano down the hall for three hours (I kid you not) incredibly loud, and to make it better, she is miserable at it. I have ADD and cannot study when their is music playing or really even noises whatsoever. I nicely asked if she was hold off for an hour or two while I got my homework done. My mom yells at me and says "WHY DONT YOU PUT YOUR EXPENSIVE EAR SILENCERS ON? YOU JUST BOUGHT THEM FOR CHRISTMAS DIDN'T YOU?"

Christ, I am going nuts in this place.

/rant

Anybody else have a crazy family?"

Edit: WHAT THE **** IS AN EAR SILENCER ANYWAY?

Dude, I don't even have iems, so I don't know what in the hell she is talking about. I'm going to assume my HE-5s are my ear silencers. Although maybe she thought the tube in my EF5 was an earplug. /facepalm

Somebody photoshop a pistol suppressor onto some ears NAO.

My sister plays piano (loudly since its a full sized grand piano) way up into the middle of the night when I'm trying to sleep. She's quite good at it but that's not the point. I can only sleep when there's no noise at all but she seems to only want to play when I'm trying to sleep... She woke me up early this morning singing loudly around the house too.

Maybe all sisters are annoying?

Maybe it's just a patent genetic defect?

Com'on it's not that bad. Just laugh at her fail piano skills and move on. You won't even remember this day in 20 years. Plus, crazy families are generally the ones where you all get along in your later years.

An example of a real crap family is one where the dad comes home drunk and bashes up his wife in front of the kids. Luckily you aren't in that situation.

I should mention I'm not actually that angry, just a little annoyed, and find my mom's response a little humorous. I certainly don't mean to act like I have a bad life, because I do not, at all. Just find this situation kind of irritating.

Oh irritating is the definition of family when you're young .

Good luck with the sanity.

If I may suggest, have you considered using earplugs? That's what I do anyway. Works like a charm when you need that silence and tranquility in your mind. I use Macks'(32dB ones). Otherwise I'd have lost my sanity by now. Worth a try I'd say.

Even when it's quiet I cannot study or do school work when I'm at home. Once I get home, my mind enters different state that wants nothing to do with school or work.

I purposely schedule my courses so I have breaks inbetween classes so I can get nearly all my work done at campus instead of back at home. The only exception is when it comes to papers, I almost always wait until late the night before it's due to start writing them. This technique is nearly impossible for many degrees, but it works for the entry level required courses!

But if you are still in high school, it sucks no matter how you break it down
