Correct wiring? CK2III problems

Hi.

I just "finnished" my CK2III. I haven't connected PCB or IEC to ground yet, but I figured I wanted to fire it up... Just to see if its working.

So I turned it on. No sparks, no fire or anything. Actually, nothing happened at all. There is no light from the LED. The LED polarity is right and the fuse seems fine.

Take a look at my transformer wiring. Are the the primary and secondary leads soldered as they should be?

Looks correct, sure you have the fuse installed?

Yes, I just checked and the fuse is installed properly.
Are the secondary leads wired up correctly as well? I couldn't really find anything about them, so I just looked at some pictures from the amb website.

Yes, secondaries are wired correctly : AMVECO, INC: Miniature Low Profile Transformers

What AC voltage are you reading on the input and output of the transformer?

I get 120V input, so IEC and switch is wired on correctly. But on the output I dont have any voltage at all... Obviously, something is wrong with either the transformer or my wiring. Hmm.

EDIT: Opps, I measured DC voltage on output leads instead of AC voltage. I'm now getting around 20V on output, which is ok since there is no load.

EDIT2: Ok, Im actually reading +- 15V, from ground relative to the +15V and -15V pad, which is fine right?
Maybe its just the LED that is not working.

LED backwards? No resistor?

15K ohms resistor, should be fine. What happens if I solder the LED in backwards? I might just desolder it and turn it around and check if its working?

The LED won't work if it is backward. When you get them, one lead is longer than the other. The longer lead marks the polarity of the terminal, much like an electrolytic cap. You can either look up on the data sheet which lead is + or you can just apply a voltage to it and see which way it lights.

Woho, my amp is working. I actually managed to solder the led in backwards... It was cool to see the blue led when I pressed the power switch. Thank you guys.
