What recordings on what system make you think that you're really done with chasing new equipment. At least temporarily.

Some definitely do for me. Just of the top of my head (upstream of the cans there is no variation in my system and its my sig)

Between Last Night and Us - The Audreys on my UE11s
6 Suites for Violoncello Cello - Pierre Fournier on my UE11s
Half The Perfect World - Madeleine Peyroux on my HD650s

On my very modest setup: macbook->ibasso d2+ boa->Alessandro MS2i's with distancers

Alison Krauss & Union Station- every studio album I've heard is top-notch. Live at Union Station is amazing as well.
Eric Clapton- Unplugged
Rodrigo y Gabriela- 11:11
Dire Straits- Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms, Communique, etc.
The Pogues- Rum, Sodomy & The Lash (remastered)
The Chieftains- Down the Old Plank Road, The Wide World Over, Irish Heartbeat (w/ Van Morrison)
Bert Jansch- A Rare Conundrum (remastered), L.A. Turnaround (remastered)

Tin Pan Alley - Stevie Ray Vaughan

There is the gist. Chase equipment to one's desire, yet remember that if the material presented from the file, disc, or tape is inadequate, the point is moot.
