TFP10 mids sound muffled/cloudy to me, but not recessed.

W3 mids sound a bit recessed but certainly not muffled.

tstarn, what DAP are you using with the TF10s? How's the X1061 with them?

Sony X 1061 is a great match with the Trips in my view, but they also sound very good with all my DAPs, save the Amp3, which needs a non-hissing IEM (in my case, the S4 and the Thunder both work well, though I mainly use the Ksc35s or Grados with the Amp3s).

Oh, on some artists/genres, I do bump the Sony Clear Bass to +1 with the Trips, but not often. And if the recessed mids are a problem, there is always the great Sony EQ to help out (if it's not against your audio religion).
