B22 volume knob suggestions

The last couple of days have been great. Firstly my builder informed me that my B22 is ready. Secondly, I was able to buy a nice PRII mkII (I sold and sorely missed it).

Here are some pics of my B22 which I should be receiving soon.

One small cosmetic change I'd like to make to the amp is replace the volume knob. The current volume knob is a bit smallish given the dimensions of the unit. I'd like to get something that's > 38mm.

I've been looking at these two:

this and this

both are about 40mm.

Any other suggestions on volume knobs that'll blend well with faceplate and color of amp.

The second link you posted is not working for me so if I post the same you know why.

eBay seller "partspipe" has a great selection including this 48mm DIA x 22 SOLID Aluminum VALVE AMPS KNOBS SCREW SET - eBay (item 300370792555 end time Jan-23-10 19:35:50 PST)

I also like the look of theseKnob --CNC Solid Aluminum, Buff-cote | Diy HiFi Supply.

You could also took at VT4C and THLaudio they both have a good selection.

My 2c - Not sure what pot that is or its shaft dia., but wait till you get it & see how "stiff" the pot is WRT rotation. Seems knurled knobs are out of favor but having just tried one of those nice smooth knobs was compelled to revert to knurled (easier to grip).

That would be the DACT stepper and a 1.4" (35.56mm) GoldPoint knob.

DACT steppers are very soft and take almost no force to change volume settings.

thanks guys.

Trying to decide between RB4119 from thlaudio and the ebay knob Forte pointed me to.

As FallenAngel said I find the dact to be pretty soft. So grip shouldn't be a problem with a smooth finished knob.

Any other suggestions guys ?

might i ask what the dimensions of that case are?

that trafo looks awefully close to the rest of the amp boards.. you might want to check the hum level before declaring it 'final'. at the very least, have the travo move to the farthest edge of the farthest corner.

Maybe some version of handmade? Over the weekend I'm just going to make one 45mm diameter stainless knob, weighing around 300grams

I say go with that one. (the one bolded) I love the look of the polished and the curved sides.

vilts, wow. Nice work on those handmade knobs.

unl3a5h3d, yep that's a pretty nice one. I would ideally like to have around 21mm depth.
