my clip+s headphone jacks dying.

is it a common issue on them or am i unlucky? I bought it in the states so i doubt i have warranty too. The sound cuts out on the left side if i move it or my headphone plug. I've recently lost my job so getting a new mp3 player is out of the question unless it's really cheap.
