Something similar happened to me - with UPS! (not USPS)
The delivery should have been within Texas, but ended up in California, lolwtfbbqroflmfao.
Got my money back, though.

Fixed it for you.

Well in that case I really can't be mad, can I? The drive up the PCH to SF/SC is one my favorite trips too. When the fog is low you end up driving the shoreline above the 'cloud cover'. Looks amazing in the sunset.

What I hate is when they leave a new vinyl on top of my mailbox in the rain because it wouldn't fit.

Exactly my experience. Slow but 100% safe, until now. Fedex once lost my 300$ package and I couldn't do anything to get it back.

Well, tracking now shows that the package is back at the LA sorting facility (B), less than halfway between its starting and destination points. So it made an ~800 mile journey and only traveled ~10 miles in the right direction.

The main problem I've had with usps is that (besides slow international post) their tracking numbers are rubbish, e.g. I once got

"Your item was accepted at 11:56 AM on August 25, 2009 in SURPRISE, AZ 85374. No further information is available for this item."

Sounds fine but for the fact the item was sent from PA in October.
