Hi folks,
After much research I purchased the Grado SR 80 and have been very happy with the sound signature. I have been using them unamped from various sources.
I'm now looking to take the next step up the grado ladder but I'm not sure where to go.
I'm in a difficult situation as I don't live where I can go and try good quality cans on. Basically what I'm looking for is the best bang for buck step on the grado ladder and from what I've read once I move up I will have to start looking at an amp.
So which grado will give me the best bang for buck upgrade?

You will be able to live with it forever (seriously), but the upgrade bug may bite. But seriously, the SR-225 are some seriously good cans! They do not really need an amp but a tube amp makes them sound very nice and warm with a great textured bass that I will always love
