portable amp needed for Sony X1050 + RE0?

I was wondering if there would be an improvement in SQ if I amp my RE0 coming straight of the Sony X1050's headphone-out? Since the X already has a pretty good S-amp, will there be a noticable improvement with amps under $200? Or would it require a more high-end amp to increase the already good output from the X? I read somewhere that The Ibasso T3 didn't make a difference coming from the X. With Ipod it would be more noticable since they have a weaker output. I tried amping with the Fiio E5 but this only added muddy lows and coloured the highs. Any suggestions?

For the RE0, I am mainly looking for a wider soundstage and better lows. I know I can buy a different IEM but I figured a nice amp will always come in handy.

If you really have to use an amp with X, you got to bypassing the S-amp, this is done by using a DIY X lineout cable

Thanks for your reply! I read everywhere that there still is no true line-out on the Sony X. It supposedly has the same signal as the headphone out. I thought that maybe the headphone out's volume @100%, with all eq and fx off, could function as a clean signal for an amp. Then I wondered if there actually is an amp under $200/$300 that noticably improves the, already good, output from the X.

edit: I just noticed that someone else opened a slightly similar topic at almost the same time as me.

Thanks for your reply! I am not looking to change the DAP's sound signature though. I am looking to add to it's signal to possibly improve the RE0 IEM's sound. My question is if the Sony X provides enough output to make the RE0's really shine and if it doesn't, would the RE0 improve when amped from the X's headphone out with a sub $200/$300 portable amplifier.

Unfortunately the seller shop does not provide online shopping service..otherwise you can buy it online....it only cost around US$ 65

I use the T3 with the X1050 and the difference is night and day. There's no comparison and I highly recommend it. I used to think the X1050 sounded good without and amp, but boy was I wrong.

Well...for X1050 + T3...it highly depends on whether you are using high quality 3.5 to 3.5 or not...or even using X line-out to T3....
I am using iBasso 3.5 to 3.5, the difference is amazing...clearer sound...more detail...

yes...same...but I bought on iBasso web with my T3
