*rant* And I thought Itunes sucks...

Well, Mediamonkey drove me over the edge; I just wanted to see if anyone is with me on this one.
So I sold my Cowon D2 and bridged the time until my iaudio 7 arrived with an ipod nano 3g a friend gave me. Turns out I somewhat missed the ipod interface / ipod pairing with itunes (once had a 5G Video). I get an nano 4g 16 Gb: I like the sound - indeed, drums and bass sound nicer, i.e. more real on it -, but the battery life seems somewhat lacklustre compared to the iaudio, so I sell it again. - Alright, the iaudio's interface is a bit mid-90'ish and album art kinda sucks on that small screen, still it's nice to have a dedicated program to organize your music and to put your music onto the (or: any) player. Manually loading the player is a bit backward-ish, imho. As for tagging, mediamonkey is better than anything I have tried so far. It's simply more convenient with its auto-tag from web function. However, it faisl in the department that's most important - it is not able to sync with the iaudio, not at all. I tried the iaudio in UMS and in MTP mode, I formatted it twice (quick and slow format): it hangs when trying to sync, it even crashes my windows explorer. It would only load the player until there is 10.9 Gb left, for whatever reason. Next thing there is the amount of "access violations" I get. Around 15 since I started using (or rather: trying to use) this POS - yesterday. And these are only the major annoyances. I never thought I'd say this, but it seems itunes is not so bad after all. When I first started to use it, I was appalled by how it handles things, now I just wish I had a player that I can use itunes with. - Anyone with me? (Wanna trade your Ipod for my iaudio 7? )
Probably this is just for my satisfaction, but I am sure there are at least some people out there who feel the same.

Glad you got that of your chest!

I feel your pain. iTunes is resource heavy but it does the job. I just sold my iPod(s) and got rid of iTunes. Using foobar. Lightweight stuff. Waiting on a uDac to go with the netbook. Sorry, I got off topic. This is your thread...Rick

You're blaming the wrong guys.

Cowon's idea of beta is everyone else's idea of an early alpha. Their idea of release is everyone else's early beta.

Get a Samsung, Sony or something.

yeah, you may be right. The iaudio's interface / handling is pretty poor compared to the D2's. I am not sure, though, how much that has to do with the access violations and the incomplete syncing. - I like the size and battery life of the iaudio. The one Sony player I had - nwz-729 - didn't impress me too much, though. Don't know about Samsung. Think I am just getting an Apple player.
