pick a shure or westone, never really hear any complaining of fit troubles with them

Nobody has mentioned the PFE's. Very, Very comfortable IEM. And you don't have to jam them deep in your ears which leads to a hardly noticeable experience!

I'll second this. My experience is a little limted: Sennheiser, Shure and Etymotic; but the PFE's are the most comfortable and best sounding of the bunch.

I love my PFEs -- great sounding and SUPER comfortable (I have small ears and always found IEMs uncomfortable until I got the PFEs).

I use Westone UM1's with Shure tips on most of my airplane flights. The flight is 5.5 to 6.5 hours each way, and I'm usually able to keep them in my ears for most of the flight. The Shure tips aren't quite as comfortable physically, IMO, I just use them to block out noise. YMMV

i'm also gonna suggest sennheiser ie7 or ie8. although i guess the ie8 might be out of price range. i just got a pair of ie7 in today and with sony hybrid tips on, they are extremely comfortable. they need proper burn-in before i can say anything about the sound but they are defintiely very comfortable.
