sansa clip not loud enough with KSC75 - Page 2

I usually listen at about 20%-50% on my Clip using my 64 Ohm RE0, but I prefer listening at low volumes cause I already damaged my hearing enough. Try using lower volumes for a while - you'll get used to it eventually if your hearing is normal.

What exactly do you consider 'safe' ?

Not so loud you say? Damage starts at 80 dB for extended exposure and 85 is three times as loud. That's OK if you listen to very dynamic music with just some peaks at 85 dB; not so if you listen to genres with a nearly constant loudness. 100 dB is a crazy volume to listen to. It's louder than most loud power tools (you wouldn't dream of operating power tools with naked ears, would you?). To our ears, it makes no difference whether it's music or noise: sound pressure will damage them, period.
