My only temporary disability was being blind for a day.
Okay I have the oddest question ever, but I've always been extremely curious. What did being blind LOOK like? What were you seeing? Weird as it may be, when I lightly push on my eyes for a minute or so, I start seeing weird pattern like things, was it similar to that?

I had iritis which is an autoimune disease of the eyes. The treatment was to give me a bunch of different eye drops that would make the symptoms go away. When I'd run out, I'd get refills if the symptoms came back. I ran out while on vacation.

When the symptoms came back, I got blindness as a new symptom. I'd wake up in the morning and my vision was like looking through a fogged up car window at night with bright lights shining on it. I could see vague out lines of very large things. I could see things if I brought them up to my eyes.

The first 2 days, it went away after an hour so I was able to function pretty well although with a lot of pain and extreme sensitivity to light. The third day, it didn't go away after an hour. We were in San Fransisco and we had planned to go shopping that day. It was a pretty interesting experience, but my wife was pretty freaked out. I wasn't. I just enjoyed the experience of trying to shop without seeing anything. I remember outside of one shop, my wife said there's some pretty interesting looking things in the shop. All I could see was a big dark square where the shop's window was.

In 12 hours, all of a sudden I could see again, just in time to take the red eye back home. I got refills as soon as I got home and never had the problem again.

I remember when I was performing once I guess I began to overheat and my eyesight completely cut out...this was when I was like when I was in 5th grade and it was a very frightening experience. Luckily I regained my sight within a hour and all was well. Oh and I also threw up on the kid in front of me and that day still lives in infamy today.
