Thinksound Thunder & Rain IEM Reviews – The Eco-Friendly IEM (or More Wood) - NOTE: Thunder will... - Page 2

well OP, how do they sound???

I'm thinking about canceling my order for Monster Turbines for these...

How does Rain differ from Thunder? (Besides the enhanced bass)
Also does the cord fir the iPhone 2G?

I think the Rain is meant to be a more flat, balanced sound while the Thunder is meant to be a more mainstream, 'fun' sound.

Thats funny, I used to live in the Thailand/Laos area for a few years, and I remember Lychee being a favorite fruit of mine. We would climb up those trees and collect alot of its fruit and eat all day. Now those very same fruit bearing trees are being use to make Earphones now.

sorry about the location confusion. thinksound is located in Somersworth, NH. We are located about 1 hour from Boston, 15 minutes to the ocean, and just south of the White Mountains. I will have the address up in a few minutes on the contact page and probably on the front page too.

Very cool, these look like pretty unique IEM's, and are tempting to buy as gifts when some birthdays approach.

Zephoku, what did you do? I have heard the Turbines, and while they are good, I think the Thunder is a better value. And yes, the plug looks like it should work with the 2G.

With permission, I'll requote an email from Aaron:

I want you to know that the RAIN and THUNDER models do sound different from one another. The THUNDER is more of the mainstream sound and the RAIN is something that I prefer and has a more natural sound signature. Many people may prefer the THUNDER over the RAIN, but I think the RAIN sound is more of what music is supposed to sound like. It is not a fatiguing earphone at all and it is very well balanced for a more natural sound that can be appreciated across all music genres.

Regards and thanks

I didn't cancel just yet, I still have a week or so to do it.
Can you compare the Turbines to the Thunder?

I listened to Turbines at a Can Jam for about 20 minutes, A/Bing with my IE8, so I would have to go from memory on the Turbine. My impression of the Turbine was that they did sound very good and rich, but the treble sounded off to me. Might have been a burn in issue, a tip issue, or just the IEM. As far as detail, I would say the Thunder is more detailed. I believe the soundstage is similar. That is the best I can do.
