Greetings! Thanks for looking at my ad. I no longer need this pair of pristine Dynaudio BM6A mkII powered monitors. This is the big brother to the very popular BM5A. For all of the technical information you might need, please visit: BM 6A Mk II
I purchased them new from Sweetwater in August of 2009. They have been set up in one location (my basement) in a smoke and pet-free environment. As an example of how these can be run, I have the balanced output from my cd-player going into an NHT-PRO passive volume control, then going to the monitors. The BM6A mkII only have balanced inputs, so take that into consideration. You can buy adapters or have custom cables made if you are running single-ended.
When describing the sound to people I often say these Dynaudio speakers are my favorite pair of headphones
In a nearfield position they provide the detail and speed of headphones with the soundstage and imaging of speakers. They are amazing as computer speakers. I had them set up that way for a while on a pair of Auralex Mopads.
There are several optional items you can purchase along with these speakers at a discount. Just PM me for questions and interest. The items are:
- NHT PVC-PRO balanaced passive volume control. I actually have two of these...
- TC Electronics "Level Pilot" balanced volume control. This is much slicker looking than the NHT but it forces you to use their cables for part of the chain and does not isolate like the NHT (which uses transformers).
- Auralex Mopad speaker bases. If you're using them on your desk, these are great. As a bonus, The Mopads appear to have been designed for the BM6A and fit it perfectly.
I'm asking SOLDfor the pair which is what the BM5A usually list for. I paid $1,499 from Sweetwater. I can't stress how mint these are. I can post pictures if you'd like but I find it difficult to get good pictures in my basement. The price includes Paypal fees but does NOT include CONUS shipping. I have the original boxes and the speakers will ship in them. They were not double-boxed from Sweetwater and I don't intend to double-box them when I ship them to the buyer.
