If you don't know about this amp, do a quick search for Fisher amps here on Head-Fi and you'll see that many people found the headphone out of this vintage tube integrated to be superb (I was pleasantly surprised as well!). Plus, the bass and treble controls really worked magic to get the music right for every headphone and every recording!
This Fisher was professionally refurbished using many new capacitors (orange drops, etc.) and resistors, carefully chosen to preserve the original sound signature of the amp. A slow-start current limiter was installed to prevent the onrush of current upon turn-on, greatly preserving tube life. New replacement front knobs were installed. Finally, strong NOS tubes were installed, and an extra set of four Sylvania NOS power tubes are also included.
All pots have been cleaned and lubricated, they all turn very smoothly. The tube sockets and connectors have also been cleaned with DeoxIT contact cleaners.
A lot of Fishers have the L/R switched on the headphone outputs... This one is wired properly, and has new Vishay-Dale resistors on the output.
Cosmetically, all lettering is intact, no dings or other nasties here... You're probably not going to find another Fisher KX-100 in better condition! See pics below:
I also used this amp with great success with a pair of Omega Grande 6Rs (which I will also be listing soon... if you're interested in the combo, PM me). The bass control allowed me to fill in a little extra low end that can be a little lean at times with single-driver speakers (and bookshelves in general)... and the combo really sang!
This is really a great integrated for both speakers and headphones. I'm selling only because I'm downsizing my entire audio setup.
While this has been boxed up carefully ready to go, I would prefer pickup from New York City due to the fragile nature of vintage equipment. I can also deliver on the weekend if you're in the NYC metropolitan area for the cost of a cab ride.
