Creative Zen? Need help with new player

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a new player on a slightly low budget. I also need at least 10gb of memory, and I'm looking for a player that has a memory card reader seeing as i have an 8gb sd card, I could buy a 2gb player and add the sd card to achieve my memory space. l I've heard that the creative zen

was a great player and i found the 4gb version on ebay for $39.77 shipped.
but there is one problem. The music on the sd card and on the actually player are in different locations. What i mean is i can only have 4gb of music on the players memory and if i wanted to listen to the rest of my music i would have to switch over to the sd card. Basically I'm looking for a player that has the memory cards integrated with the music on the actual player itself.
So, any suggestions? Should i just get the Zen?
Much thanks,
Ryan

I have a Zen and its not good for memory cards. It doesn't integrate with the main library. I suggest you go with a D2 (which I also have) instead. It uses the SD better and also sounds better. The D2's interface is lacking compared to the Zen though, but it can be Rockboxed.

sweet

thanks hk,
I looked into the D2 and that is a little over my budget, but still very considerable.
i guess my main goal is to have a player that the memory card and main library are integrated.
any other suggestions?
thanks

I would recommend the Sansa Fuze or Clip+ but they use microsd cards. Both are excellent sounding players (I had the Fuze but the Clip+ shares the same sound). All the other players I can recommend also have microsd instead of a full size sd slot.

Sorry for the incorrect information!
i actually have an 8gb microSD card with an adapter to make it full sized or whatever.
So what would be the other suggestions besides the Sansa Fuze or Clip+

Thanks alot for all this useful info

There's the Iriver E100 and E150, but they suffer from the same flaws as the Zen. Another choice is the Nationite S:Flo 2, but that also has its problems from what I've read. The last one I can think is getting a V2 Sansa E200. I'm not sure if they sell them anymore but you can get it and put Rockbox on it.

Edit: This is a great tool to compare mp3 players and see what fits your needs. http://anythingbutipod.com/compare

Thanks again.
I've narrowed it down to either the Zen or the Cowon D2
the Zen has the right price, but what I'm really looking for is the memory card music integrated into the players library music, and I'm having trouble finding a player that has this besides the D2, because that's not a feature that is usually put on display. If anyone else can help that would be amazing.

Cheapest i could find a D2 is $84.95
Sorry, I'm a cheapo i guess. I just don't feel like spending to much.

The only ones besides the D2 that I'm aware of are the Sansa players (Clip+, Fuze, E200, etc.)
