leave switched on or not?

I had a quick question for those in the know... is it OK to leave a DAC/amp (solid state) permanently switched on, or should it be switched off overnight and when not in use?

If it doesn't run on batteries i woudln't mind to turn it off

I think its ok to leave a SS DAC on 24/7, which I have done in the past. My Kill-A-Watt gadget tells me that my rig draws 120 watts at full draw so I turn off all but my AirPort Express when not in use.

It should be fine. I leave it on if I fall asleep and am too lazy to walk over to my desk to turn it off. I don't know why you would want to, though. It wastes electricity, fuel, etc.

I'm only speaking from experience, The only Equipment that I "USE TO" always leave on were my Dac and Transport! Mind you everything else uses tubes so to prolong tube life and save energy I'd turn everything Off except the Dac and transport (keep them warmed up, right) well all it took was one STORMY NIGHT, with lightning and POOF went the Dac......To top it all, everything was/is on protective plugs or High Dollar Power supplies ......Don't ask me how it happened but I lost the Dac....so now I turn off and unplug my Digital "STUFF"

Thanks all. I figured it was OK to leave on... it's only using a 5V DC power brick so is not drawing much juice and I worry more about the little on/off switch withstanding over 700 flicks a year.

Luckily I don't live in an area prone to lightning, so I'm not worried about that.

The DAC1 doesn't even have an power switch, so I leave mines on 24/7.
