You don't need extra software to output to different formats in Foobar. As Lil' said, you just need the right component section for output within FooBar. Easily the best windows-based audio software and one I use exclusively for music with Windows.

What is the best player if you are using a Mac?

CD?

First week I got here I read about foobar. One of the best nuggets I've found here (well actually found it at Nugent's site).

I personally really like Media Monkey. But Foobar is pretty nice also, I have both installed.

kshelton, what do you see as the advantages of Foobar over Media Monkey? I'm currently using MM, and I'm pretty happy with it but if Foobar offers some major advantages, I might switch.

I did that and I can see the difference in the output choices. What do I do with burninate, the cd burner. How do I install that and thank you for your help...Rick

Did you mean to burn or rip your CDs?

I always use EAC to rip my CDs to lossless format (FLAC) and dbPowerAmp to convert them to other formats.

I want to use foobar to burn cd's. I have the dll file "burninate" but not sure what to do with it.

I prefer MM, I haven't used foobar all that much though. They both seem very powerful. MM is easier to use and feels more finished. But I don't listen to music on my computer very much at all. I just like using MM as my "media manager" I am actually thinking about paying the 40$ for the lifetime gold version.
