... and I am Way Late. For years, I have been reading about foobar but I kept iTunes. Now; iTunes does have a great interface and even greater demands on your CPU. I finally decided to install foobar. Loads fast, I am not going back to iTunes.

I am not bashing Apple. Just puttin' out there what a lot of you know already.

Foobar is great. I am currently using and enjoying the Squeezebox Web Remote but Foobar has it all when it comes to music playback: lightweight, fast and highly customizable.
Be it interface or music output. Foobar easily let you change the way it looks, feels and plays.

I thought this would be a thread about not listening when people say run away after the first pair and the consequences of staying...

But yeah, foobar is good.

Who really cares about memory nowadays its cheap, if iTunes is the thing slowing your computer, then your comp sucks.

They don't make foobar for Mac, so I use iTunes. It is quite good.

lol I'm using foobar2000 right now, listening to some Arctic Monkeys. A great music player, and with plug-ins like WASAPI, it really helps clear up the output.

And customization is king in Foobar. The only issue is whenever I reinstall windows I end up reconfiguring it because I never save the original

I just installed foobar after reading this tread and it is awesome.

Thanks.

Is there a software to convert m4a or wma files to mp3?

I tried using transcoder but it doesn't work very well.

Put it in the Components folder in the foobar2k's folder. You need to choose it in the Output option in foobar.
