the high-end headphone or audio market is not big so when a company manufactures high-end headphones, they are not making them in large amounts, they are like expensive watches for example and maybe even less in demand, so you're like paying for exclusivity I guess?

What justifies the price of a consumer product is the consumer itself. If consumers are not refusing the asking price of the product, that means it's justifiable for the company.

Post # 14,15,17 say it all. Watch out for snake oil in anything that you buy, especially audio products. FOTM can also inflate a selling price!

Everything and nothing at all. It will forever remain a mystery, so you either agree to pay the price, or try to haggle it down, or agree not to pay the price.

Price just makes it or you feel more important.

Quality is never determined by price, quality is determined by research.
