Just a quick update:
I decided to become a high school English teacher in New Jersey so I will be going for my teaching certification in earnest next year. This year, my strategy is to save up my money to buy a used car (since I gave mine to a friend) and for the fees involved for the Praxis II exam, mentoring, formal teaching education, etc by working at my new job as an audio salesman. Next year, I will be learning how to become a teacher in NJ while earning my certification and looking for a job at a local school district to earn some additional income.
Hey, I will finally be utilizing my English Creative Writing Bachelor of Arts degree and Associates degree in Liberal Arts. Plus, I get to teach kids and know that I am making a positive difference in the lives of young people to prepare them for success in this world.
The pay ain't bad either and if I decide to earn my advanced degree it only opens up more doors for opportunities to become a school leader such as an administrator.
I thought this through and I am committed to seeing it through. I start a long and rewarding career in education while I am still fairly young.
