SEE PROS & CONS. NOTE: The clamping factor will obviously differ from person to person, but I'm surprised to find little mention of it, as it is the sole reason I'd never think twice about...

When I listened to the sound for the 1st time, I was hit by it. I was punched by the not-punchy-bass. I was hoping it would offer much better bass response than SE315.. equals to Klipsch Image...

Also, how do you intend to use the Ipod?
Mobile I use CM700t which are open eadbuds and Senn 550's closed eadrbuds.
At home, moving around I use the new Senn PX100 or hd25/
At home sitting - Senn HD650, HD600, or K701 with lossless and high bitrates. (Using an X-Can headphone amp)
At home when TV is on - Beyer DT770 or DT150. (Using an amp)
Basically, portable use needs sensitive, lower impedance headphones.
The nice thing about the Classic is that you can store a lot of stuff on it so it is very versatile.
The headphones depend on how you want to use it. (and budget)

A quick search should give you more information than you would ever need on recommended headphones for portable use/using with an ipod. Also, it would be helpful to know your budget, listening habits, and whether isolation is an issue.

This is true. Also, there's a lot to be said about comfort and sound. While the iGrado sounds quite good and hits an appealing price point, they're sometimes maddening after they make your ears numb; several well-liked IEMs sound their best only with expensive foamies; there are any number of acceptable ear buds, but the music can, at its worst, sound dull or bassy. If you know your likes and dislikes, you can steer away from products that won't be to your liking, or (as in the case of Shure IEMs, for example) have a wretched reputation for falling apart.
