Tell A Story Of The Biggist Chance You Took!

So life is a risk right. Of all the personalities out there some wait and contemplate, some dive into chance, others never move from the arm chair. Let us hear about the biggest chance you took in life and what the payoff was. You do not have to go into all that much detail. Let people hear a story to maybe inspire them in 2010.

For me it would probably be moving abroad for 3 years to take my Bachelor degree, I moved away without ever having been there, not knowing anyone, I just applied got accepted and off I went.

I once trusted my brother enough to go skydiving without a parachute. Well, him and about 15 other guys who could have reached me. It was a bit of head a rush to say the least. He clipped on to me within about 20 seconds but it seemed like a lot longer than that.

This thread could be pretty interesting. I'm waiting for those career shifts or big business risks that paid off. It could give me the inspiration I'm after.

Career shift.
After almost 5 years in my first full time job I decided that I could need some new challenges. So I quit the job without having a new specific one in mind. It took me around 3 months to find a new job, which also involved moving 250km (new apartment, ..). 10 years later I am still working for the same company, although in a different position.

Quite risky, since I did not know how long I would have to go without income. But in the end it paid off, both challenge, responsibility and $$ wise.

Wow nice move dude. 10 years is a long time in this day and age.
