German Maestro 8.35D vs Shure SRH 840?

Is anyone willing to share experience comparing the GM 8.35d and the Shure SRH 840?

I will be using the cans with a Macbook=>optical=>iBasso D10 stock

Source will be lossless orchestral, acoustic guitar/vocals, jazz.

I am not a basshead. I do love the rich sound of low ochesteral strings and a good female vocalist. Would like the largest soundstage possible for closed cans.

Need closed cans. Looking for a can which will improve with amplification.

I have narrowed my list to these two thanks to much help on the boards

Thanks,

Ray

Here is my experience with the 8.35 http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/ger...8/index15.html
For second option I can recommend you the K-271MKll great for the acoustic guitar, vocals and jazz.

Thanks Acix.

I saw your review during my search and appreciated your insight.

Just one question...you concluded that the 8.35 would make a fine MONITOR headphone...what about a listening/pleasure can?

I am going closed so that I don't disturb family members but the cans will be for pleasure listening.

Any thoughts?
