Calling out to Beta-22 builders for assistance

Hi

I have a beta22 which I have unfortunately shorted and blown 2 boards.

I would like to request if any B22 builders would be willing to assist by helping me construct 2 populated boards. We can discuss this more via PM.

Thank you

Alex, how did the boards short?

Are you sure the complete boards are blown and not a couple of parts that can be replaced?

THe B22 that i have is a 4-board build. The minus boards short when i use a Neutrik XLR to RCA adaptor for my headphone out. This plug shorts the minus and the ground. According to the original builder, the minus boards might have shorted when it is grounded.

I believe the boards are not completely blown since there is still voltages across the resistors R9,R10,R11,R12,R34 and R35 of the minus boards. However, these are very much reduced from the optimal respective voltages stated in the AMB B22 site.

I lack the necessary tools in troubleshooting and rectifying the problems. Thus, i am hoping that someone in the forum might have some spares lying around/ build me another 2 boards.

I am assuming that since the B22 boards are identical for left/right channels, i can simply swap out the affected boards in my B22 for new ones. Can anyone enlighten me if i am correct?

Indeed.
If you search the builders thread I swear there are some posts where someone had a very similar problem.
Ti's response there may give you an idea of where to start.
