If this is the wrong area I'm sorry.

Got myself a great condition Marantz 2226 for like $60:

The FM part works, but how in the world do I get AM Radio to work on this thing?

Sounds like I need to buy a couple of things right?

Is the AM section not working at all? Or is it just producing static? Have you tried hooking up an antenna?

If you don't have an antenna, Radio Shack has very inexpensive ones, like under $10. You can also try hooking up a length of wire as an antenna - you should be able to pull in the stronger stations.

I this problem once on an old Kenwood. It was dirty contacts on the selector switch. If the antenna doesn't help you might look at the switch.

sounds like the antenna thing. Make sure you get an AM antenna because an FM dipole won't receive as well.
