I, uhm, invested in the future, going from a CD-based system to a system around a squeezebox and DAC. And a new portable system.
In 2010? Squeezebox Touch and I still got an eye on big (and to my wallet expensive) Tannoy dual concentrics from their Definition or Prestige series. But first I'm going for a Holiday to SE-Asia next month...

This has been my most expensive year yet...and I see an RS-1 and a tube amp in 2010. At least.

Compared to others here, my 2009 dent on my wallet was not so bad..a portable amp, LOD, cables and topkit etc.

Considering I joined the forum at the end of Nov 2008, and my 2008 expense was the esw10jpn's, I would count myself as doing pretty well against temptations here on head-fi.

to be honest, a bigger factor on my spending has been my music library, which was filled with mainly crappy downloaded 128kb mp3's, until I joined head-fi that is..so slowly working my way up with my CD library, which I must say is putting a large hole in my budget,as in 2009 I already spent over $1K on Cds...

as for 2010, plans are mainly to concentrate spending on CDs (although no promises..)

I figured my big spending will be in 2011, as I will be moving back to Japan and no longer have to worry about moving hassles if I buy large setup. thats when i will go on a spending spree with a dedicated player, home amp, speakers etc.....go 2011!!! (isn't that the 50th anniversary of Audio Technica? )

eh..seems like I got it all planned out...let's see how this compares to my usual new years resolution of quitting smoking...

I did rather well in 2009:

Spent $40 on a vintage Phase Linear preamp, and it is one my very best audio purchases.

Sold several hundred dollars worth of audio gear at last fall's AK fest and thru Craigslist.
