the vi is cheaper, is the sound as good without vi?

They are the same except the VI has the mic integrated into the cord, and the cords are swappable. The mic is on it's own separate wire I believe, so it shouldn't affect the sound any. You can order either cord from Logitech for about $20 in the US. Not sure about Austria.

The sound is not affected by the mic. If its cheaper than theres no harm in getting it. maybe later you might be able to use it with a portable source that can use the button/mic.

How different are the tripfi vi wires compared to the tripfi wires?
The original ones are real tough and they always entangle.

I got the vi as well, thinking if it doesn't affect the sound, then why not? honestly, they would be a lot more useful if the mic could be used like the push-to-hear unit on the Shures.

Wonder if there was any way to make a mod for this...
