iPhone Belt Pouch Advice Please

Happy Holidays, Folks!

The bad news is that my wonderful, 5 year-old granddaughter, "Emma the Dilemma" accidentally destroyed my CrackBerry on Christmas Day. For future reference, never let any of those wick/wooden stick, air fresheners spill on anything, especially anything I own... I knew it was going to be bad when I was awakened from my Christmas afternoon nap, by Emma's sweet voice saying, "Buff Daddy, I'm really sorry..." Lost all of my contacts is the worst of it, along with removing the finish from the table. Emma the Dilemma is now just called "Thud" for short. And yeah, she really does call me Buff Daddy.

Good news is that I have a new 16GB iPhone 3GS. Since Santa brought one of my daughters an 8GB model, Santa decided his new replacement phone would also be audio capable with plenty of storage. I got a very good gel/acrylic (combo) skin as part of the bundle. Great new toy!

Okay, all of that was a set-up for this question: Does anyone know of a belt pouch, case or clip that will accept the phone and the skin? I've had BBerries for years and know nothing about iPhone accessories.

I have a Berry but picked up a belt universal holder at the 'Krap Shak' that should fit your iPhone.

I'm interested in this as well, as pouches tend to be designed for the iPhone by itself, not an iPhone in any kind of case. I'm thinking I'll have to go with a case and just put the thing in a big pocket.

I'm going to the Krap Shak (Radio Shack) tomorrow to see if they have a universal belt pouch that is large enough as was suggested above. I'll let you know if they do. If it turns out they do and it's a "store only" thing, we can work out something if you want.

I don't know if this is particularly helpful, but I've always tossed a nekkid iPhone right into my left hip pocket. Typically alongside the shiv and whatever pocketchange I have.

After 2.5 years, I have yet to kill or seriously damage either iPhone I've owned. Their backs show evidence of wear, but are totally functional.

I don't care much about preserving the finish - the phone is a tool (and a much-loved one) and I don't mind a scratch or two or five. I might resell it when the next one comes, but it'll most likely get passed along to my niece or little cousin. I'll rub it out with plastic polish and (I think) they'll be happy with it.

I installed an screen protector on my iPhone and then placed inside an incase case. I carry it inside a DLO leather pouch on my belt. The first couple of weeks it was a tight fit but the leather loosened up and I have had no problem for the last 16 months of use. Good luck.

Thanks for the assistance everybody.

I finally got to Radio Shack today and I found this Body Glove horizontal pouch that holds my phone with the gel/acrylic skin in place. It's pretty snug right now but it will loosen up with use. It's a little pricey, but you can tell it's a quality item when you hold it.
