Gradessandro bamboo woodies?

I'm really interested in trying to woody my Alessandro MS1i, but I have no idea as to which woods are the best to use. I have no tools, etc at the moment and wanted to try and keep that to a minimum.

It occurred to me that, seeing as I live in Japan, if I could find a section of bamboo that had the correct diameter it would require very little effort at all to turn them into a set of cups.

The main question I have is, would bamboo be too rigid? I've read a few threads here and there on wood cups, and some seem to say that a less rigid wood is better, although I never really grasped why.

Please help this wood noob!

I think it is your duty as a head-fier to make these bamboo cups and show them off to us!
