Yes, it's a audible how to guide.. You hit every facet out of the ball park, & proved to me that the 702 are more then capable of being good mixing headphones... I'd like you to hear my DT48a from Asia with your CD, with my mogami extension cable.. I would use your CD & my DT48a as a combo, to counter the, 'they are the worst headphones ever crowd.' But enough of the DT48.. This is about your music..

Yes, I'm curios to hear your 48a with the Mogami cable. I built my own Mogami cable for my 702, and I use the Mogami cables in my studio for the last 15 years. Here more info: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f21/ak...-cable-378255/

I've neglected to comment after receiving my copy some time ago. I admit to not having spent enough time with this CD in that time. So far I've only listened to the entire CD 3 times and I gravitate to tracks 6 & 7. I very much like electronic music and crave the intense beats and bass...deep bass. My first complaint is a lack of deep bass...40Hz and below which I hear from many tracks in my collection. This is only a guess...I like low bass that stresses my sub.

I can recommend this CD because the SQ is very good, obviously, but it isn't what gets me twisted and chilled.

Thanks for pointing this out. The first version of the CD was heavy on the bass. On some systems this bass was causing distortion and rumbled the sub, so I needed to find a balance making it bassy but not distorted, which is a challenge. In other words, you should be able to enjoy the bass without distortion even if you boost the bass in an SUV system, or in a club. Now, if you have a sub at home, you can always just switch it to 30Hz and it will do the trick.

On track 3, Some Romance, it can sound a little light on the bass, but actually if you boost it to 30, other frequencies start to appear. I checked it on the HD 800 and they definitely boost at the 30 and the 20Hz, which is a nice experience.

I'm glad you like the CD. Thanks for posting your thoughts about it.

I will experiment with some EQ in iTunes(10-band). I use an AirPort Express sent to a V-DAC > Aphex 204> Woo Audio 3 (preamp) > Rotel amp> B&W speakers.

The Big Bottom with the Aphex 204 will enhance bass down to around 40 Hz I believe. I use it very sparingly with electronic music because much of it needs no help. For older 80's rock it does wonders.

I have a modest system in a reg cab F-350. Eclipse HU and Point Source speakers. Alpine mono amp with a nice parametric EQ (380 watts @ 2 Ohm) into two 10" subs in a sealed enclosure. The EQ is tweaked to squeeze out low bass, so it's just a matter of bumping up the preamp level for the sub amp. This did work somewhat for Rabbit Dream.

As I said before, these are mp3s on the site. They're not nearly the same quality that's on the actual CD. The mp3s will always be missing frequencies in the low end.
Trying it with the DT880 now. Much better, way more involving

Yes, the Aphex 204 is a great Exciter and can very easily extended the low frequencies here is more info Aphex 204: Get Your Big Bottom Aural Excited | Gearwire. I used the BBE in the '90s to open the highs and to give the bass more body. Just need to go easy on the drive button. The mix can be turned up all the way. At some point the drive button, which is a gain button, can create distortion over the clip points maybe the -10db botton in the back can help. But yeah, it's a really fun piece of equipment.

Was just listening to 'Rabbit Dream'. It's a nice Cd with some fun tunes. Well done, and it also makes for good headphone fun. Sounds really great with my K702's.

Need some decent resolution album artwork though for my iTunes library.

Have you thought of offering this album for sale on HDTracks.com? This is as good a recording as any that are there.

It's a extension mogami cable 2549. My Asain DT48a cale is called Eagle professional OFC cable. This cable is better then any of the stock DT48 cable I have had in terms of durability.

Yeah, you're right. Elephas already asked me, so I just uploaded a 500 px image on the first page. You (and anyone else) are welcome to use it. I'll check HDTracks.com. I just signed a contract with INgrooves for exclusive digital distribution, so I'll have to check to see if they work with HD Tracks. But yeah, I'm just checking the high resolution options now, so I'll probably have some more ideas soon.

Thanks for the cover art. HDTracks distributes 44.1/16bit CD's as well. I'm not sure if your music would benefit from being 88/24bit. It sounds great as is.

Thanks aimlink, I need to investigate this subject a little more, but for now if someone converts it to 24/88, I'd love to hear their impression.

So far the album is pretty good. I only have made it through the first 6 songs but each song seems to be getting better and better. Im listening through my la7000's and I think that they really like this type of music. I think the bass is fine. Of course Im not listening on speakers though.
