This is a hard one but from what I have seen as well as read, the best bet is the S9 and the Zune HD.

Cowon S9, ZuneHD and Samsung P3 in that order. Although when it comes to flexability, I'd rule the zune out on the fact that you must use their software to load it.

The Zune HD has the best looking screen but if you want a player for movie watching you should go with something bigger with better format compatibility.

Out of that list, Cowon S9 and the ZuneHD would be the winners.

OLED screens really looks great.

Haven't tried the S9 but to me, the ZuneHD has much better screen than that of the iTouch.

Yeah, pretty much anything with an OLED (or variant). I have the Zune, and video quality is relatively good. One issue the low resolution and 3.3" size, but I guess most the current DAPs are in a similar boat. Another is the need to transcode, and the Zune only seems to accept videos on a case by case basis. (I've transcoded files of the same type and resolution using the same settings, yet not all will be transferable)

To add to the OLED screens I would add that Sony Walkman X1000 series, I had the chance to use the 1050 fro a week. All I have to say is wow. it kicks the Zune out of the water.

I think the sony has a great screen also, it's still expensive, I think the price will drop on them soon.

There is no denying that that Sony's are expensive, but I do have to say it is one of if not one of the best DAP's that I have used yet.

i already tested and owned many dap (S9, M1, x1000, zune hd, P3, ipod touch, etc) , and the best one is Samsung M1 .

Samsung M1 and Zune HD is nearly indentical (the spec also same; AMOLED, Nvidia Tegra, Samsung Screen, etc), but i give Samsung M1 as a winner because M1 only need brightness 2/5 to be same with Zune HD highest contrass/brightness. Samsung M1 has a more yellowish side when Zune HD has more blue side (its make zune hd more neutral)

I would go with the S9 if you don't want the proprietary software to load music onto your player but.... personally I would pick the S9 because of it's design; the Zune HD has a really good screen also.

All capasit capacitive ive so you don't have to worry about scratches as much either.
