Sansa Clip+ with what closed headphones?

Hey everyone, hope you are having a good Christmas. First off I would like to say that I am new to the "Portable Audio Scene." I have never had an mp3 player and didn't really think I would want one. But times have changed and I am looking for something to use in the library and in the lab. I have read good things about the Sansa Clip+, but am now looking for a pair of closed cans to go with this.(I don't really like IEMs)

I have been looking at ATH-M50s for some time, but don't know how the Clip+ will handle them. I have read that they do not need amped from some people and that they do from others. Does anyone use this combination? And if so how do you like it?

Are there any other closed cans out there less than $150 that the Clip+ handles well unamped or has good synergy with?

Sorry if this seems similar to other post, but I couldn't find anything from searching.

Information that may be important:

I currently have a pair do beyerdynamic DT880's and a pair of grado SR60's. Both are open and will not work for studying.(I like the sound of both so something similar would be nice) I listen to 80's alternative, new wave, syntpop, post-punk, and classic progressive rock. All music will be ripped in either 320kbps MP3 or FLAC.

Can anyone help me?

I have a Clip with a Fiio and a Fuze with a Hornet. My M50's sound better amped, at least with the Hornet, but don't really need to be. I guess if you want to try an amp, go for the Fiio cuz it fits on the Clip pretty nice.

I have used my sony V6 and v1 clip. The V6 is very sensitive so it's driven easily.

Though for portability, there may be better, smaller options. I can't complain about the sound and build quality for $70. Very good for the money.

Sennheiser HD 25. Very good at blocking noise and keeping the tunes to yourself. Quite durable and easy to swap cord and cups if needed.

Sennheiser USA - DJ Headphones, HD 25-1 II, High attenuation of ambient noise - Private Audio

Sony XB500, XB700. They are not bass monster as some may suppose. I like both, XB500 is bassier while XB700 is more balanced and comfortable as hell.

You may also try to ask Headroom for the closed can which may be driven by Clip. They have great choice Closed Headphones| HeadRoom Audio.

With the Shure SRH840 paired with my Clip+, it sounds good but a bit lacking in the low end.
