Hey everyone, hope you are having a good Christmas. First off I would like to say that I am new to the "Portable Audio Scene." I have never had an mp3 player and didn't really think I would want one. But times have changed and I am looking for something to use in the library and in the lab. I have read good things about the Sansa Clip+, but am now looking for a pair of closed cans to go with this.(I don't really like IEMs)
I have been looking at ATH-M50s for some time, but don't know how the Clip+ will handle them. I have read that they do not need amped from some people and that they do from others. Does anyone use this combination? And if so how do you like it?
Are there any other closed cans out there less than $150 that the Clip+ handles well unamped or has good synergy with?
Sorry if this seems similar to other post, but I couldn't find anything from searching.
Information that may be important:
I currently have a pair do beyerdynamic DT880's and a pair of grado SR60's. Both are open and will not work for studying.(I like the sound of both so something similar would be nice) I listen to 80's alternative, new wave, syntpop, post-punk, and classic progressive rock. All music will be ripped in either 320kbps MP3 or FLAC.
