actually segate has released flashes for some bad drives. wd never has. kudos to seagate.

however, if the drive is not even recognizable to the mb's bios you then will require special equipment. i was hoping there was some trick out there but i guess i already knew the answer.

it comes down to if i am willing to load the data again or pay 99 bucks. that gets us into a whole 'nother debate which is perfect for this board lol. i have been spinning redbook lately. i feel very high end shiny disk spinners are somehow superior to music servers sq. the only thing that is not at all superior about spinners comes right back to my laziness. chaninging the cd lol. i find myself listening to the same cd 5 times because i don't want to get up and change haha. please, no insults yes i know that is lazy.
